A Manx racer who was due to make his debut at TT this year has died following a crash on Sunday.

25-year-old Billy Redmayne came off his motorbike at Oliver's Mount in Scarborough suffering "serious and irreversible head injuries".

Confirming the news on Facebook this morning the Laxey man's girlfriend said doctors had told his family that the damage to his brain was "too severe for him to ever wake up again".

She also revealed he was an organ donor and that some of his organs have been donated - adding she's holding on to the fact he died "doing what he loved".
