Pub and club to close due to 'shifting consumer trends'

Thu, 23 Jun 2016

Two 'watering holes' on the Isle of Man are to close due to "shifting consumer trends".

Heron and Brearley has blamed the decision to shut Nightlife in Ramsey and The Pinewood in Pulrose on 'evolving preferences' of customers.

It says the future of public houses is changing and it wants to focus on developing the 'overall standard' of the properties in its estate.

The company says customers are demanding higher standards of service and quality and people want a more 'family friendly' approach.

Nightlife is located in the former Saddle Hotel building which was given registered status in 1992 - it will shut its doors on Saturday; The Pinewood will close in July.
