Watchdog has 'serious misgivings' over Liverpool berth plan

Decisions on whether taxpayers' money should be spent on land for a new shipping berth in Liverpool are too serious to be "rushed through in the final days of this government". 
 
That's the message from TravelWatch - next week the Department of Infrastructure will ask Tynwald to approve £3.5 million for the site on Princes Half-Tide Dock. 
 
The passenger watchdog says it has "serious misgivings" about the time available for public and political scrutiny of the proposal.
 
That location is 800 metres further away from the city centre - John Pennington is the lead on sea issues and says unless there's a dedicated bus service it won't work for foot passengers:
