Teenager rescued after 30 foot fall from cliffs

Tue, 02 Aug 2016

A teenage boy has survived after falling 30 feet down a cliff in Peel.

At 3.40pm yesterday Peel Coastguard was called to assist paramedics in the rescue of the young man who'd fallen whilst climbing near the old baths.

His friends had raised the alarm and by chance a doctor was walking nearby who was able to help until the emergency services arrived on scene.

Peel Coastguard says the boy was "extremely lucky" to come away with "only bruising and a suspected broken arm" adding the incident could have been much worse.

The public are being reminded that climbing on cliffs can be dangerous with serious consequences if something goes wrong.
