September sentence for accountant who 'duped' companies

Wed, 03 Aug 2016

A devious accountant who fooled a number of his employer's clients into subcontracting work to him will be sentenced next month.

29-year-old Daniel Fitzpatrick was working for OCRA Limited between 2009 and 2014 when he 'duped' the companies by sourcing work for his sole gain.

Using a pseudonym name the Andreas man fooled them into thinking the service was being provided by OCRA and benefiting to the tune of £12,000 from invoices paid into his bank account.

Fitzpatrick, who's a qualified chartered accountant, made his first appearance before the Court of General Gaol Delivery last week - he'd previously admitted seven charges of deception and two of attempted deception.

Social enquiry reports have been requested before he's sentenced on September 20th - he's been bailed in the meantime.
