Handmade karts ready to do battle with Douglas course

Daredevils will take to the streets of Douglas tonight in a bid to be crowned 2016 'Soapbox Champion'.

The Microgaming Soapbox Race will see karts race through a course which takes in chicanes, jumps and a 90 degree right hand bend.

Last year the homemade karts reached speeds of up to 30mph.

This year all proceeds are being donated to the Isle of Man Hyperbaric Chamber - the event starts at 5.30pm.
