The Manx footballing community has been paying tribute to Corinthians captain Louis Thornton, who died at the weekend.

The 26-year-old's body was found in a Liverpool hotel room on Saturday morning - his death is not being treated as suspicious.

The Isle of Man FA and Thornton's club both posted messages of condolence on social media, while many of the Island's other teams have also paid tribute.

Douglas Athletic described Thornton as a "brilliant man and terrific footballer", while Onchan described his passing as "a big loss".

Corinthians have invited anyone wishing to leave messages and pay their respects to do so at their home pitch.
