An MHK wants Tynwald to vote to stop Members of the Legislative Council serving in Government.

Lawrie Hooper, who was elected in Ramsey at the recent General Election, doesn't want MLCs to hold Ministerial posts or serve as members of departments.

The Liberal Vannin member also thinks LegCo members shouldn't act as members of statutory boards.

Chief Minister Howard Quayle appointed Members of the House of Keys to all eight Minister jobs earlier this week.

Mr Hooper will ask for a vote when Tynwald sits next week.
