An inquest into the death of a TT sidecar racer will reconvene later today.

The 58-year-old died in a crash at Ballaspur during the second sidecar race at this year's TT in June.

An earlier hearing established Bell, who was from Bedlington in Northumberland, died as a result of massive blunt force trauma.

Bell made his TT debut in 1995 and claimed his only race win in 2003.

His son Carl, who had been his passenger since 2007, sustained minor injuries in the same incident.

The inquest will be heard at Douglas Courthouse from 2pm.
