Manx Telecom claim their 4G network covers 99% of the Island

An MHK will ask the Chief Minister what plans there are to improve broadband and telephone coverage in the Island's rural communities.

Ayre and Michael member Tim Baker will put the question to Howard Quayle in next week's sitting of the House of Keys.

Manx Telecom claims their 4G network provides 99% coverage, but Mr Baker's constituency has a number of areas affected areas for coverage blindspots, while Sure don't include a coverage map on their website.

Some users find it difficult to get consistent mobile coverage in a number of rural spots on the Island, such as coastal areas and valleys.

The House of Keys sits on Tuesday morning.
