Six fines for littering since 2010

Wed, 23 Nov 2016

Just six people have been fined for littering on the Isle of Man since 2010.

Environment, Health and Agriculture Minister Geoffrey Boot revealed that the Island's local authorities have issued six fines, while there has also been one prosecution.

One area also pursued a prosecution for fly-tipping, while a number of warning letters have been sent, often for those who drop cigarette butts.

The fixed penalty for littering is currently set at £50.
