The Isle of Man Office of Fair Trading is warning parents of a safety concern with some models of car seat.

Mamas and Papas has identified a potential risk with a number of models sold through Tesco, Asda, Shop Direct and a number of independent retailers.

The manufacturer says there is a risk the shell of the nembus, aureus and altair seats cracking in the event of an accident.

The OFT is urging anyone who has bought a Mamas and Papas seat to check the orange label on the back to see if their model is affected.

All those affected come with the approval code 04 44596.

Anyone who has purchased one of the affected models can contact the manufacturer for a refund or replacement.
