Council uses renewable energy to heat greenhouses

Fri, 30 Dec 2016

Douglas Borough Council is using renewable energy to heat its greenhouses.

The local authority it the first to use the technology, which it's estimated will save the ratepayer around £12,000 per year.

The air source heat pump will also reduce the Council's carbon footprint, as well as reducing costs.

The project, which replaced the old oil heating system, secured the Council a prize at the Energy Awards.
