Police are treating a fire at the former Marine Biological Station in Port Erin as suspicious.

Fire crews, police and the coastguard were all called to the site on Saturday afternoon, spending several hours tackling the blaze.

Officers say an investigation to establish the cause has begun, but that the fire is suspicious.

The police are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area on Friday evening or Saturday afternoon and saw something suspicious.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Headquarters on 631212, or Castletown Police Station on 822222.
