Marine Biological Station fire started deliberately

Police are continuing to appeal for information after confirming a fire in the south of the Island was arson.

Substantial damage was caused to the former Marine Biological Station in Port Erin on New Year's Eve.

A forensics team visited the site yesterday along with fire investigators to confirm the blaze was started deliberately.

No-one was injured as a result of the incident.

Anyone who was in the area between Friday evening and the Saturday afternoon and may have seen something suspicious is asked to contact Police Headquarters.
