Bushy's seek legal advice over 'TT' trademark threat

Wed, 04 Jan 2017

Bushy's Brewery says it's seeking legal advice after the Manx Government threatened to sue over it's use of the term 'TT'.

The company registered the trademark Bushy's TT in November 2014, but the Department of Economic Development has demanded it stop using the letters.

The brewery, which says it's been told to expect a court battle if it doesn't drop the TT term, uses the Bushy's TT phrase on its stickers and t-shirts.

The Government owns the trademark to the term 'TT', but Bushy's claims it's too late to start objecting to its trademark over two years after it was registered.

With just five months until TT, Bushy's confirmed it will seek legal advice but could have to make changes to its 2017 designs, as well as to the Bushy's TT beer tent.
