More than 1200 people have signed a petition urging the Manx Government to rethink its decision to drop the taxi firm which provides patient transfers.

Bridgewater Cars in Liverpool currently take patients from the Island with specialist medical appointments in the city from the airport to the hospital.

Local residents have taken to social media to praise the company and call for the Department of Health and Social Care to rethink the move, with one setting up a petition on change.org.

The petition - which attracted over 1,000 signatures less than two days after being set up - says drivers from Bridgewater help improve a terrible experience.
