Government offers help to CityWing staff

Staff affected by the collapse of CityWing are being offered help by the Manx Government.

The Department of Economic Development has contacted the virtual airline and its handling agent after it was announced the company would enter liquidation last week.

Infrastructure Minister Ray Harmer confirmed that the DED has already been in touch with the two firms and is offering support to around 20 staff who are set to lose their employment.

Mr Harmer is also urging airlines taking over CityWing's routes to consider recruiting those facing redundancy.
