Work to protect Castletown against flooding will get underway next month.

The £2.3m project will reinforce the concrete walls at the edge of the harbour to avoid flooding during extreme weather.

The Department of Infrastructure hopes the work will stop a repeat of the storm surge that caused damage in 2014, while protecting against rising sea levels.

Preparation work is already underway in the area, including removing trees and bushes, with the 45-week project due to get underway from May 8th.
