Police have shared images of a car recently involved in a crash to encourage other drivers to use the Island's roads safely.

The Northern Neighbourhood Policing Team posted photos of the vehicle on its Facebook page, showing a black car with extensive damage.

Officers confirmed the driver walked away uninjured, having worn his seatbelt and wasn't under the influence of alcohol or other substances.

However, the police hope the photos will make others think twice before testing the limits of their vehicle or taking unnecessary risks.

The message comes just days after the launch of the annual TT road safety campaign.
