Cement silo damages overhead power cables

St John's residents were left without power after a cement silo damaged overhead power cables.

The mobile cement silo was being towed along Peel Road on Saturday morning when it struck the cables, leaving those in the immediate vicinity without electricity.

Fire crews made the area safe while Manx Utilities were called out, repairing the cables and restoring power to those affected.
