The Chief Minister will ask Tynwald to note a number of proposed changes to the way the Island's parliament functions.

Howard Quayle will present 11 recommendations at this month's sitting of Tynwald, including proposed changes to the election of Members of the Legislative Council and diversity within Tynwald.

The recommendations include preventing sitting MHKs from being able to stand for LegCo, and stopping MLCs voting in the election of the Chief Minister.

Other proposals include appointing just one political member for each Government department and introducing a code of conduct for Tynwald members.
