Tynwald votes for civil service review

Onchan MHK Julie Edge gained support for her motion in this month's sitting of Tynwald.

A review into the structure of the civil service will take place after Tynwald supported a motion from an MHK.

Onchan member Julie Edge called for the review to look at all employees at executive officer level and above.

An amendment suggested by Ayre & Michael MHK Tim Baker means the cost and length of the review will have to be agreed before the review goes ahead.

Policy and Reform Minister Chris Thomas has warned such a review could cost hundreds of thousand of pounds.
