Customs find increased number of abortion pills coming to Island

Wed, 28 Jun 2017

The number of abortion pills seized by Customs and Excise on the Isle of Man more than doubled last year.

10 packages were intercepted by customs last year - up from four during 2015.

No such items were found by customs between 2011 and 2014, while one has been intercepted so far this year.

The figures were revealed by the Treasury as part of a Freedom of Information request.

The information also revealed each package contained a single treatment and originated from India.
