Police warn dangerous drug likely to be circulating on Island

Wed, 05 Jul 2017

Police are warning of a synthetic cannaboid being sold as crystal MDMA likely to be circulating on the Island.

Officers says several people have been admitted to hospital in Manchester after taking the drug, which was found to contain the psychoactive substance Spice.

Manx police believe it's likely these drugs will be circulating on the Isle of Man, and that it can be difficult to tell them apart from other crystalised or powdered forms of MDMA.

Those who take the drug can suffer from extreme aggression, manic behaviour and foaming of mouth.

Anyone who has taken the drug or knows someone who may have used the substance is urged to seek advice from the Drug and Alcohol Team on 617889.
