Manx cyclist Peter Kennaugh will leave Team Sky to join BORA-hansgrohe for the 2018 season.

The German team announced the two-time British champion has signed a two-year contract.

The team says Kennaugh is a strong climber who is also fast on the flat, and hopes he will be able to win some stage races with the team.

The 28-year-old's new teammates will include reigning road world champion Peter Sagan.

Kennaugh was one of the original riders signed by Team Sky for their inaugural 2010 campaign.
