Thu, 17 Aug 2017

Police and one of the Island's telecoms providers are warning of a text scam.

The Isle of Man Constabulary received a number of reports of a fake message claiming to be from Isle of Man Bank circulating on the Island yesterday.

The text includes a link, which officers warn will provide scammers with customer numbers, PIN numbers and passwords if clicked.

Sure have also issued a warning to their customers, urging anyone who receives such a message to delete it and block the number of their handset.

Police say anyone who doubts whether such a message is genuine can contact their bank first.
