RTC equipment used to free trapped dog

Fire crews used pedal cutters to help Nala after her paw became trapped in her cage.

Fire crews used equipment normally used after car crashes to help rescue a dog.

Officers were called out just before 5:00 this morning to help Nala - a dog who had managed to get her paw trapped in her cage.

The team managed to cut her free using pedal cutters, which are often used when fire crews are called to the scene of road collisions.

The crew described Nala as a great patient who was very happy once freed.
