Fuel stolen from DoI depot

Tue, 03 Oct 2017

Police are appealing for information after fuel was stolen from a Department of Infrastructure site.

The tanks of three HGV wagons have had their caps forcibly removed and the diesel drained at the Glen Duff Depot on Lezayre Road overnight on Tuesday last week.

Officers say the theft resulted in the vehicles having to be taken off the road for repair, delaying roadworks around the Island.

Police are also encouraging local residents to ensure fuel tanks are secure to deter criminals.

Anyone with information on this theft is asked to contact officers at Ramsey Police Station on 812234.
