Police urge public to check home visitors' ID

Thu, 12 Oct 2017

The Island's police are urging Manx residents to be careful and check for ID when letting strangers into their homes.

The Isle of Man Constabulary issued the advice to help members of the public spot scammers.

The police advise checking ID, using a chain or spyhole to see who is at the door and to keep doors locked even when someone is at home.

Officers also want the public to keep an eye on vulnerable neighbours who may make easy targets.

Unwanted or suspicious callers can be reported to the police on 631212.
