Police are renewing their appeal for information into a cable theft after finding burnt cable in one of the Island's plantations.

Officers say burning the cables remove the insulation, allowing thieves to sell the copper inside.

The cables were taken from Manx Utilities last month and found by a member of the public in Kerrowdhoo.

Members of the Western Neighbourhood Policing Team are keen to hear from anyone who has come across a fire in the plantation since September 26th.

Officers are also appealing for any scrap metal details who have been offered tarnished copper blackened by fire for sale recently.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the team on 842208.
