Signage stolen from nature reserve

Police are investigating the theft of signage from a nature reserve in the north of the Island.

49 information placards were taken from the Ayres at Smeale sometime between Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday morning.

A number of the signs warn dog owners to keep pets under control to prevent harm to ground nesting birds.

Officers say the theft is irresponsible and detrimental to the well-being of the animal life within the restricted areas.
