Fire crews called to Douglas flat

Fire crews were called out following a kitchen fire at a flat in Douglas.

A team was Douglas was sent to the scene on Westmoreland Road shortly before 7pm yesterday.

All residents managed to get out of the building before the emergency services arrived.

Officers using breathing apparatus entered the smoke-logged flat to extinguish the grill pan fire before ventilating the property, spending around 30 minutes at the scene.

The fire service is reminding the public to close the door and get out of the property and call the fire service if they discover a fire.
