DoI hopes prom parking will boost local retailers

Sat, 25 Nov 2017

The Department of Infrastructure hopes additions disc zone parking in Douglas town centre will support the Manx economy.

Motorists can now park on the Douglas Promenade walkway between the War Memorial and the Bottleneck for free until January 8th to provide additional spaces for Christmas shoppers.

The DoI says it wants to encourage Manx residents to shop local and support retailers in Douglas, and believes the additional free parking will benefit shoppers and retailers.

The spaces can be used for up to two hours with reserve parking only, and drivers must stick to the 10mph speed limit while on the walkway.
