The Reciprocal Health Agreement - the story so far
Thu, 11 Mar 2010
In 3 weeks time the Reciprocal Health Agreement between the Isle of Man and United Kingdom will end.
From April 1st Manx residents will need to buy insurance to cover their medical expenses before they travel to the UK, and vice versa for UK residents.
Treatment in A&E departments will still be free, as will treatment where the patient is referred to a British hospital.
Despite the end of the agreement being so close, arguements over whether the agreement can be saved, and who is responsible for it ending are ongoing.
