Oil thief targets church

Police are investigating after a man was disturbed trying to steal heating oil from a church.

The man - described as six feet tall and skinny tried to take oil from St Lukes Church in Baldwin last Thursday.

When he was disturbed he ran to a small dark coloured van and drove away.

Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact Braddan Police Station.

Officers are advising members of the public to ensure their oil tanks are fitted with a padlock.
