Councillor remanded on drink-drive charge

A Douglas Councillor will spend New Year in jail after being remanded on drink-driving charges.

Catherine Turner of Westminster Terrace is alleged to have driven while over the limit on November 7th and December 29th.

The 51-year-old hasn't entered a plea, and the case has been adjourned until Thursday next week.

An application for bail was denied by Deputy High Bailiff Jayne Hughes.
