Chief Minister optimistic as Brexit process formally begins
The Chief Minister says the Isle of Man is well positioned as the United Kingdom begins the process of leaving the European Union.
Howard Quayle insists the Island is well prepared following confirming that British Prime Minister Theresa May has formally triggered Article 50 - beginning the two-year Brexit process.
Mr Quayle also reassured the business community and wider public that the Manx Government is doing everything possible to protect the Island's interests, including ensuring the relationship between the UK and Isle of Man doesn't change.
The Chief Minister plans to hold talks with the UK's Parliamentary Secretary at the Department for Exiting the EU today to keep up to date with the latest developments.
A report from the Council of Ministers on the effects on Brexit on the Isle of Man is expected in the coming weeks.
