Near miss for pedestrians at zebra crossing

A group of pedestrians narrowly avoided being hit by a car after the vehicle failed to stop at a zebra crossing in Farmhill.

The group was using the crossing at the top of Stevenson's Way after a bus stopped to let them cross, but a silver 4x4 overtook the bus, almost hitting the pedestrians.

The incident happened at around 3.45pm on Wednesday.

Police are keen to hear from anyone who saw what happened, particularly the driver of a white vehicel who stopped at the crossing at the same time.
