Matt Fletcher
On Air: Mon-Fri 0600-1000 and Sat 1000-1300
Having moved to the Isle of Man in July 2008, Matt Fletcher was thrown in at the deep end to host Energy FM's Breakfast Show. Having previously worked at radio stations in Manchester and Brighton, he tells us the Isle of Man is by far his favourite location!
Outside Energy FM, Matt can be found all over the Island DJ'ing at functions and club nights or hosting charity dinners and fundraisers. As he's currently battling it out with JP to lose some weight you may even come across him in the gym, with a strict routine, he's managed to lose over four stone since Christmas 2008, next stop running the London Marathon!
Join Matt Monday to Friday, 6am 'til 10am for Matt Fletcher in The Morning and on Saturdays between 10am and 1pm when he presents The Saturday Shift.
Q&A
Star sign?
Cancer
Who's your favourite Spice Girl?
Baby Spice – Emma Bunton, it's that blonde girly thing that does it for me!
What were the last five things you bought?
Phone top up, a box of bran flakes - well you gotta keep regular, a new car, dog guard for the new car and gym membership.
What colour pants are you wearing?
Blue always blue
What do you always carry with you?
If you're asking me this so you can rob me, DON'T!
iPhone, keys and wallet (rarely any money in it though)!
Favourite food?
I love Indian food, but I’m also a massive fan of lasagna and Italian, oh I like Chinese too - damn it, who decided to ask me this question!
What was your first ever job?
It was a paper round - the one where they deliver about 1000 papers to your door, then expect you to sort them out, insert leaflets and deliver them, all for the measley sum of £7 a week! Far to much like hard work, hence a career in radio!
What's the first thing you'd do if you won the lottery?
Pay off the credit card, visit car dealerships to test drive lots of posh cars already knowing that I want some sort of BMW M series, probably buy a new house with a field - buy anothyer dog to make use of the field and then browse through boat brochures - always fancied a speed boat.
Where did you last go on holiday?
Florida to visit Mickey and Minnie, had a great time, hadn't been there since I was about 10 years old, the rides weren't quite as big and scary as they were when I was a lad, but still had a ball!
If you had to join a boy/girl band, which one would you join?
Blazing Squad, or perhaps not. Big fan of The Script at the moment so maybe them or Take That, just to get the attention from the ladies.
What pizza toppings do you have?
Simple - ham and mushroom!
If you could be any character in a film, who would it be?
Hannibal Lector, not into eating people but I’d love a mask and to be wheeled everywhere on a trolley.
Who's your idol?
I'm not really sure I have one, I suppose somebody in radio, lets say the late John Peel, Tony Blackburn or Kenny Everett - a true radio legend!
Who's your ideal woman/man?
Holly Willoughby, although she has just had a kid - I'm not that fussy, but we won't tell the Mrs that! Any girl who's skin isn't the colour of an orange - really not into the fake tan thing!
Dead or alive, who would you invite to your fantasy dinner party?
Gordon Ramsey to cook and swear!
John Peel or Kenny Everett to talk to about music and radio.
Peter Kay or Lee Evans for comedy.
Michael Jackson would have had an invite to entertain afterwards, but as he's no longer with us, I'd have to call in a superstar DJ, lets say Tiesto, I think he'd get the party rockin!
