Isle of Man wins satellite rights battle

The Isle of Man has won its legal battle with Bermuda over satellite space.

The dispute arose after claims Bermuda’s communications would suffer from interference if the Manx bid for a certain frequency range was allowed.

The High Court in London ruled the Island must get the International Telecommunications Union to allow the frequency change.

Provided the Isle of Man makes use of the space before the June 2010 deadline, it could generate millions for the Island’s space and communications industry.
