Beth Gale

Beth Gale's 100 was the highlight of the latest results from the JB Ritchie and G Jones Competitions.

The student shoots for the Kirk Michael club and has an unusual position on the firing point with one foot hooked over the other leg but it clearly works for her!

The current JB Ritchie leader is John Paul Bridson with 377 points and the G Jones is being led by Gary Knight with a total of  386. Beth's younger sister Alisha shot 98, just two points behind her sister.

Port head for title win with Ashley at the helm

As the Winter Indoor League drew to a close, Port St Mary saw off a Laxey side depleted by the lack of their Gold Coast shooters - Harry Creevy is Manx team manager Down Under while Gemma Kermode is one of the island's medal hopefuls.

The Manx team flew to Australia while Port's very own pilot Ashley Gardner made no mistake as he touched down with his first 100 this season. Other strong scores came from George Dalton-Brown with 99 and 98s from Gary Knight and Lauren Newsom.

Laxey were simply outscored by the home side but Andrew Jessop was their top bod with 98.

No less than FIVE 97s meant Port took the Division Two match unopposed while Division Three went the same way on a night when PSM fielded no less than 21 shooters.

Castletown caught out by sharpshooting Sulby

There have been a series of surprising results for Castletown this season and the latest one was defeat at the hands and trigger fingers of Sulby. Richard Arthur and Steve Gardner were the top shots for the southern side with 97s.

The visitors took the points in Division Two and Three and Shirley Caley will have been very happy with her 92.

IOMSC Team Sandsiders ended their hamstrung league campaign with a heavy defeat by an on-song IOMSC Team Douglas at their shared home of St John's. Andy Traynor's excellent 99 was all in vain as it was matched by Sam Jones with three 98s from teammates Sharon Drysdale, Junior Champion Matthew Roosen and Martin Burns.

STS News

In Scottish Target Shooting's Team League, Kirk Michael picked up another win, this time against Larbert B from by just 23 points dropped to their opponents' 33.

Scores: Noah Mayne 98; Perryn Watson 98; Alex Trafford 92; Suzanne McKnight 89. With just two matches left at time of writing, the Manx club lead their division and it really is theirs to lose.

Information reaches me that additional Manx teams will be welcomed if they want to take part in next season's Team league.
