Probation service looking for more community service projects
The Island's prison and probation service is looking to work with more charities and non-profit groups.
The Department of Home Affairs believes community service orders are an effective way for offenders to repay their debt to society.
Community service groups have worked on Manx heritage sites, constructed leisure facilities and assisted local charities and clubs.
Groups with ideas for future projects that could benefit from community service are urged to contact the Probation Office on 687332.
It's expected more than 15,000 hours of unpaid work will be carried out this year as a result of community service orders.
