Foodbank appeals for donations after busy month

A local charity that provides food parcels to those in need is appealing for donations after a busy month.

The Isle of Man Foodbank says its seen extra demand over the summer holidays due to free school meals being unavailable during the break.

Regular donors have also been on holiday, meaning fewer items have been given to the foodbank.

As a result, the organisation revealed donations have been going out more quickly than coming in.

The charity is particularly keen to receive tinned vegetables, fruit, coffee, sugar and cordials, with a list of drop off points available on its website.

Last month the foodbank distributed around 100 food parcels on the Island.
