Chris first set foot in a radio station at the age of 15, and believe it or not… that station was Energy FM! By this point, Chris was well on his way to becoming a ‘local boy’, after relocating to the Island from Middlesbrough in North-East England shortly before starting secondary school in Peel. A year ten work experience placement here at Energy FM gave Chris a taster of the work involved in operating a live commercial radio station, whetted his appetite and proved to be the start of his love for Radio.

Throughout his time at the station, Chris has enjoyed working on just about every show going, starting his time as a ‘Sports Monkey’ on a Saturday afternoon, responsible for recording & preparing all the sports reports heard on Super Sport Saturday. Along with this, Chris has tested video games for the MEA, and separately, tested Matt Fletcher’s patience and suspected Vertigo while rocking a rather high suspended crane bucket at the Royal Show to Matt’s soundtrack: ‘STOP!!’. Chris has interviewed Santa, been snowballed live on-air outside Peel’s House of Manannan and made countless cups of tea! “Teabag first and sugar optional, followed by hot water, then milk… none of this ‘milk first’ rubbish!”

After his high school days, and following a two year spell studying Multimedia at the Isle of Man College; during which time he discovered further interests in Soundtrack design, Photography and Graphics, Chris decided University would be his next step, and so left the Island to study Radio Production at Westminster University in London.

Now back on the Island, Chris can regularly be found DJ’ing at clubs and functions, drooling over the bikes in the TT & MGP paddocks and cycling around the Island’s roads and plantations.

Chris has hosted many shows on Energy, including Matt Fletcher in the Morning and Weekend Breakfast, and currently acts as ‘Swing Jock’, covering on the station while the rest of the team escape for some well earned rest.
