Appeal for dog owner to come forward after child is bitten

Mon, 28 Jun 2010

The owners of two dogs tied up on Strand Street last week are being urged to contact police, after it was reported that a young child was bitten by one of them.

The dogs were outside Stead and Simpson and Shoe Zone between 2.30 and 3.00pm on Tuesday afternoon.

One of the dogs was tall and black, and may have been a whippet. The other was brown, and was possibly a collie cross.

It's thought the dogs were in the charge of a woman with dark hair.

The child received a superficial injury as a result of the incident.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Headquarters
