Minister looking at road maintenance strategy

Tue, 10 May 2011

The Infrastructure Minister is examining how the Island's roads are maintained after ice and snow over the winter left some highways in a poor state of repair.

Phil Gawne is thanking those who've been working to repair the roads since November.

Funds have been redirected in order to tackle the problem.

Over the last six months, reports of potholes have been seven times higher than normal

It's estimated that the Department of Infrastructure has dealt with 5000 potholes and the work remains ongoing.
