Police to get tough on unpaid fines warrants

Wed, 11 May 2011

People with warrants for unpaid fines may soon find themselves arrested and put in prison.

Manx police say they plan to have a clamp-down on outstanding fines.

Officers warn they'll be enforcing warrants in the next two weeks and anyone who doesn't pay the money they owe in full will be liable for immediate arrest and imprisonment.

People wanting to resolve outstanding matters are asked to contact PC Charlene Dooley at Lord Street Police Station between 8am and 4pm.
