Charity cycle duo near Rome

Sat, 21 May 2011

A Manx student who contracted a serious infection following knee surgery is currently cycling to a Greek island to raise money for the Island's Hyperbaric Chamber.

Kit Alexander sustained a sporting injury in Zakynthos which required surgery.

When the wound got infected, he needed a further nine operations, and time in the hyperbaric chamber.

He and his friend Johnny Hawe are cycling across Europe back to the where Kit was first injured in June last year.

As the duo were nearing Rome, Kit explained that cycling over the alps had been tough going [play clip]
