Husband cleared of murder

Tue, 24 May 2011

The husband of former Isle of Man resident Joanna Brown has been found not guilty of her murder.

Mrs Brown was killed by her husband Robert in a hammer attack at her home in Ascot last year.

The 47 year old pilot took his wife's body to woodland and buried her there.

He'd denied it was premeditated murder and admitted manslaughter on the grounds of diminished responsibilty

The jury returned its verdict this morning after around 15 hours of deliberations.
